4-H 101 is a self-paced online course which provides new and volunteers with the foundational knowledge needed to successfully engage in the Florida 4-H Youth Development Program.

Participants will explore the history, mission, values, traditions, and organizational partnerships that make 4-H America's largest youth development organization. The course introduces the variety of volunteer roles available within 4-H and provides practical guidance for supporting successful clubs, including conducting meetings, developing annual club plans, and fostering youth leadership.

Volunteers will learn how quality positive youth development experiences help young people become Beyond Ready for work, life, and future success. Additional modules cover age-appropriate programming, project participation guidelines, risk management practices, youth protection requirements, the Florida 4-H Code of Conduct, and procedures for addressing concerns within the program.

 

By the end of the course, participants will understand their role in creating safe, and engaging learning environments that empower youth to learn by doing, develop life skills, and reach their fullest potential through 4-H.
